ELO Makes Big Comeback!

After an extensive festival hiatus, the much adored and missed Electric Light Orchestra lead by Jeff Lynne will be breaking their silence and performing with a new line-up. This will be ELO's first time playing at a festival in nearly 30 years.

ELO is set to play along with Blondie, Chrissie HyndeBilly Ocean, Paloma Faith, Gregory Porter, Bellowhead and Kacey Musgraves at the seventh annual 'Live in Hyde Park' festival put on by BBC Radio 2 which will be taking place on September 14th of this year. Lynne announced the surprise to everyone via Facebook saying, "I haven't performed live in quite some time, and I know the fans have asked for it a lot over the years. It's very exciting to come to Hyde Park with Radio 2 and do something this big, and I'm very much looking forward to playing my ELO songs for everyone."

Lynne has not yet announced who will be in his new line-up of Electric Light Orchestra. During the 2001 resurrection for the Zoom album and tour the only original member besides Lynne in the band was his long time writing partner multi-instrumentalist Richard Tandy. It is more than likely he will get all new musicians, but it is not completely out of the question for him to give a ring to former members Louis Clark and Mik Kaminski, who formed their own band The Orchestra which plays many old ELO songs.

If you can't make it to the event, there will be coverage of it available to watch on BBC Red Button, BBC iPlayer and the Radio 2 website. The Radio 2 site will be featuring backstage footage, acoustic sessions, as well as interviews from the event.
