AC/DC Likely to Tour in 2014

In recent news it came to the attention of the public that AC/DC rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young had become stricken with illness due to a stroke, putting the future of the band into question and concern. However, it was then confirmed that the band was in fact working on a new album, but Steven Young, brother of guitarists Malcolm and Angus Young would be taking over rhythm guitar duties while Malcolm was away. In a recent statement from lead vocalist Brian Johnson, it now seems that it is very likely that the band will be touring before the end of 2014.

When rumor of Malcolm Young's illness first came to the press, it was then rumored that AC/DC would retire. However, the band was quick to set the record straight about what was going on and what would be happening. An official statement from them said:

“After forty years of life dedicated to AC/DC, guitarist and founding member Malcolm Young is taking a break from the band due to ill health. Malcolm would like to thank the group’s diehard legions of fans worldwide for their never-ending love and support. In light of this news, AC/DC asks that Malcolm and his family’s privacy be respected during this time. The band will continue to make music.”

Johnson said, "Hello everyone, i just wanted to thank everyone for their kind words about Cars That Rock. Your encouragement means a lot to me. This was my first ever go at presenting a TV series and even though it may not show, i was real nervous and so am very relieved that you all seem to be enjoying it. We hope to bring you more shows in the near future but, of course, there is the slight distraction of my day job with AC/DC – and it looks very likely that we will be on the road again before the end of the year. So stand by for more music – and more Cars That Rock. thanks"

That being said, hopefully fans of AC/DC will be able to see the band before the year is out despite the recent setbacks.
